How the free trial works

Our expert engineer will work directly with you to identify productivity bottlenecks and conduct experiments to address them. Your trial license provides unrestricted access to Develocity’s full suite of features.

Install and configure

You can run the Develocity server on-premises within your network, or you can host it on a cloud provider like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Whichever you choose, the Develocity server is installed, configured, and operated by you. We’ll walk you through the different setup options, provide instructional material, and assist you with any issues that might come up.

Connect your builds

Once the Develocity server is installed and configured, we’ll connect the builds and projects you choose. This can include local builds run by your developers as well as builds triggered by the CI pipelines. The data captured will offer deep insights into how your software is built, and will guide our next steps for improving your build, test, and CI process.

Capture your current build data

After connecting all your chosen builds to Develocity and letting it run for several days, you’ll have a detailed picture of your current state. We will monitor your developer toolchain without applying any optimizations and use this as a reference point during the subsequent build optimizations.

Now we’re ready to start optimizing your builds. This phase involves fine-tuning your build, improving the reliability of your builds and tests, and leveraging our acceleration technologies to reduce feedback cycle time when building locally and on CI.

We’ll analyze the build improvements made earlier and calculate the impact on build performance and reliability. This step focuses on translating observed enhancements into measurable data. By quantifying these changes, you’ll get a data-driven evaluation of Develocity’s value.

Finally, we’ll use data from the original baseline alongside data from our new optimized baseline to calculate how the delta translates into a hard ROI. You now have real data—from your own projects—that we can co-present to your financial decision-makers in a dedicated meeting.

What does the process look like?

After submitting the trial request form, we'll reach out to discuss your goals for Develocity and what we want to accomplish together.


Next, we'll work with you to install a Develocity instance in your environment and start connecting your builds.

How long does a trial last?

Once you've connected your first builds, the trial period will start, and you'll be able to use Develocity for up to 30 days. During this time, our engineers will meet with you multiple times to optimize your builds.

What do I get at the end of the free trial?

Through concrete and quantitative improvements to your existing build, you'll be equipped with the real outcomes and data to recommend Develocity to your organization.


As part of the Develocity trial, our team will work with you on a business case report to calculate the Return on Investment (ROI) of Develocity using data from your projects.


If you decide to proceed with the purchase, you'll already have done much of the work needed for a successful roll-out.
